what is kabaddi?

Kabaddi is one such sport from the past. Like other sports, this one is likewise really intriguing to watch. It is apparent that Kabaddi has been played for many centuries, even though there is no concrete historical evidence to indicate when or where it was initially performed. And because it has served as the nursery of cultures with various social norms, before it was known as Kabaddi, it was named and played by many names in various locales. When the Hindu Vijay Gymkhana Baroda founded in 1923, kabaddi was first played in a structured manner.

The game's rules were developed. There were three varieties of Kabaddi during the time. Sanjivani is the first type, in which a player who has been eliminated once may continue playing. The player could continue playing under the second type, "Amar," but a point was recorded against him in the statistics book. Under the third type, "Ganemy," the player was only dismissed once. He was prohibited from taking part in the competition once more. The first variation of Kabaddi, "Sanjiwani," was accepted when it was organised. The kabaddi rules that were created in Baroda only applied to one area of the subcontinent. The Indian Olympic Association, however, adopted guidelines for all sports in 1944.
